🍓 Strawberry Season Has Arrived at DeVries Fruit Farm
Strawberry season is one of the most anticipated times of the year at DeVries Fruit Farm. After a cold, stubborn spring, our strawberry fields have finally burst into their sweet summer sweetness — and we couldn’t be more excited. For weeks, our team worked tirelessly, covering and uncovering the berries with hay to protect them from frost and chilly nights. It was a true labour of love, but the payoff has been worth every early morning and late‑day check. Now that the warm sunshine has settled in, the plants have responded beautifully, producing a sweet, flavourful crop that signals the official start of strawberry season at DeVries Fruit Farm.
Pick‑Your‑Own strawberries is now open, and it’s the perfect time to head out to the fields. To get started, simply visit the Garden Centre check‑out tent, where our staff will guide you through the process. You’re welcome to bring your own containers — we’ll weigh them before you begin, and that weight will be subtracted at checkout so you only pay for the berries you pick. Pick‑Your‑Own pricing is $3.50 per pound, which works out to roughly $4 per quart, making it an affordable and fun outing for families, friends, and berry lovers alike.
Our Pick‑Your‑Own hours run Monday through Saturday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the fields at your own pace. You’ll also find clear signage throughout the parking areas to help direct you to the correct Pick‑Your‑Own parking spots — no confusion, just easy access to the fields.
If you prefer your berries freshly picked and ready to take home, our farm store is fully stocked with pre‑picked strawberries. Our Father’s Day Week Specials are $7 per quart, 3 quarts for $20, or a flat of 6 quarts for $35. For jam makers, we also offer jam berries at $30 per flat, perfect for preserving or baking.
And for a sweet treat during your visit, we’re selling strawberries and ice cream outside every day — a refreshing way to enjoy the season’s best.
